The children in Toddler Room 1 have been learning about the 5 senses. They especially loved learning about touch, as they were able to put their hands in bowls filled with different food items, including baked beans, flour, spaghetti, and also shaving foam. They had lots of fun getting messy and feeling the different textures. Flour was a big success as the children loved getting it on their hands and clapping, as this made the flour go everywhere.

The children then mixed some of the ingredients together and were able to compare the texture and temperature of the beans and the flour. This is a fun sensory activity that helps the toddler’s development through curiosity and creativity, as they can discover new smells and textures.
