We are excited to announce the launch of our new ‘Reading Buddy’ programme. Our children in both toddler and preschool rooms will be paired with one of The Mall’s Year 6 students and spend time reading with them each week, with the older children acting as their ‘buddies’ to help them develop their early literacy skills through shared reading experiences and positive connections.
These pairings will help to establish the preschoolers’ reading fluency, comprehension, pronunciation and vocabulary while also providing all of the children with a sense of community and friendship. We believe that this will be a wonderful opportunity for all of the children.
Our Year 6 pupils kindly wrote a letter to our nursery parents to introduce themselves.
