Our nursery pupils were recently visited by Zoolab, who provided the children with an animal workshop.
This included seeing, stroking and holding a range of animals such as a tarantula, cockroach, frog, millipede, snake and a large snail.
The children were all so brave (as were our staff members) and loved the experience. Nursery all the way to preschool got involved and were able to sit calmly and quietly while the animals were shown to them.
It was important for the children to recognise the change in their environment and behaviour when seeing the animals so they understand children how we listen differently to different things, and to observe what the animals do.
